Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Quality Manager to lead the transformation of our quality practice and embed quality as a foundational element of our data analytics delivery process. This role will be responsible for designing, implementing, and continuously improving a systematic Quality Management System (QMS) that ensures our project execution, data pipelines, partner delivered‑ data, and final deliverables consistently meet the highest standards.
The Quality Manager will lead our Operations Quality Assurance team and work closely with Operational leadership, Project teams, Partner Management, Sales, and Finance. This position requires a leader who can combine deep quality expertise with strong communication skills and the ability to influence without authority. The ideal candidate thrives in environments moving from ad‑hoc or inconsistent quality practices to a more mature, measurable, and integrated approach.
This role is central to helping us scale, reduce defects, strengthen customer confidence, and drive continuous improvement across the organization.
This position is based in our Middleton, WI office.
Job requirements
Quality Strategy & Systems Development
Architect, implement, and maintain an enterprise-grade Quality Management System (QMS) that covers all stages of the data analytics lifecycle (planning, preparation, development, execution, delivery).
Define and continuously evolve quality standards, specifications, and acceptance criteria for all deliverables, including partner‑generated data.
Establish and oversee structured quality processes, tollgates, and audit mechanisms that ensure consistency and repeatability.
Leadership & Team Management
Lead and mentor the Operations Quality Assurance team, ensuring clear accountability, strong execution discipline, and a culture of continuous improvement.
Build organizational awareness and commitment to quality through training programs, coaching, and proactive engagement with cross‑functional teams.
Quality Operations & Execution
Develop and monitor quality KPIs, dashboards, and measurement systems that provide visibility into trends, risks, and performance.
Perform root‑cause analysis and drive corrective and preventive action (CAPA) programs.
Intervene decisively when quality issues arise and ensure rapid mitigation.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration
Work closely with Project Managers and Operations teams to integrate quality planning into project lifecycles.
Partner with Partner Management to define quality requirements for external suppliers and ensure alignment through audits, feedback loops, and performance reviews.
Collaborate with Sales and Finance to support accurate scoping, pricing, and risk assessments tied to quality expectations.
Documentation, Governance & Reporting
Maintain, revise, and enforce quality documentation—including SOPs, standards, work instructions, and quality guides.
Deliver regular quality reports and insights to senior leadership, highlighting risks, trends, and opportunities for improvement.
Customer Value & Post‑Project Review
Translate customer requirements into actionable quality specifications.
Lead structured post‑execution quality reviews to evaluate performance and drive lessons learned into future work.
Qualifications
10+ years experience in Quality Management.
Leadership: 5+ years experience in team management and implementing quality initiatives.
Experience in data analytics, geospatial, or technical project-delivery environments a plus.
Proven experience designing or maturing an organizational QMS.
Analytical Thinking: Ability to analyze data to identify deviations and root causes.
Communication: Effective communication with team members, management, and suppliers.
Technical Expertise: Knowledge of industry-specific quality tools.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Quality, Engineering, Project Management, Business Administration, GIS or IT.
Background with ISO standards, Six Sigma, lean methods, or similar frameworks.
Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel.
Prior experience with GIS software is desired.
Ability to be dynamic and problem solve when internal or external issues arise.
Strong attention to detail, organization, communication and project management skills.
